About me:  I have over 25 years’ experience of freelance editorial work. My training came from working for two London language-learning specialist publishers: BBC Languages and Mary Glasgow Publications. Since going freelance in 1993, I’ve worked continuously on MFL projects for major UK educational publishers.

Other work: I regularly edit and project-manage prospectuses and brochures for the University of York; I project-managed the guidebook Child-friendly York for the local NCT; and I create and edit programmes and posters for York Musical Society concerts in York Minster.

I am an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, meaning that I have demonstrated a high level of competence and substantial experience in copy-editing and proofreading.

About me:  Having previously worked in local government finance and dental practice management I now channel my love of language and the written word into freelance editorial services. A professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, I am committed to providing a professional service within deadlines and budgets. I work on-screen or with hard copy and love tackling new topics.

The bulk of my work has been on a variety of educational resources, mostly in MFL German, Accounting and Business Studies, for Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Pearson, Hodder (via Hart McLeod Ltd), and Palgrave (via Integra), as well as reports for the OECD (SIGMA) and IFRS Foundation. I have also enjoyed working on travel guides, self-published fiction and self-published books on early music and management, along with language revision work for a non-native English-speaking history academic whose book was subsequently published by Manchester University Press.
