Skills: all aspects of editing and proofreading

Subjects: education, especially vocational/FE; other non-fiction, including housing reports and construction/health and safety documents

Types of publication: all types of educational materials including books, online and tutor resources; research reports

About me:  I have been working in publishing since 1984 and have been kept busy as a freelance editor since 1994.
I was trained and worked in-house for three different publishers in and around London before moving to North Yorkshire and starting my freelance career. Over the past twenty years I have worked with many different publishers and non-publishers and established excellent relationships with in-house editors who know they can rely on me to meet the requirements of the job and – especially – to meet the deadline.

In addition to working on different types of books and educational resources I proofread reports (such as for housing and market research organisations) and have checked websites. I am passionate about accuracy and clarity in all types of communication.

As an Advanced Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders I regularly attend SfEP Conferences and training sessions to keep up to date with the latest developments.
