About me: I have completed the second year of a BA Hons Humanities degree specializing in history, with the Open University. I am knowledgeable in the arts and entertainments field, with a family background in this field going back several generations. I have travelled extensively, and I have a broad-based knowledge of history. I regularly meet tight deadlines in the course of my work which includes writing and cross-checking the flyers and press releases for a theatre company. I have many years experience in forming and maintaining good client relationships.
I copy-edited and proofread a 250 000-word novel, published in March 2015, ‘The Keeper’s Destiny’, by Peter Bolton. In his acknowledgement; ‘Not only did she proof it, correct spelling and punctuation, but she made suggestions where a different word or phrase assisted the flow of the story … her contribution was invaluable … a superb job. I hope I may call on her again to do similar work.’ I am currently proofreading higher education texts for Palgrave Macmillan.
Basic Proofreading, Publishing Training Centre, pass.
Dip HE equivalent in Humanities, the Open University.
I am an Intermediate Member of the Society for Proofreaders and Editors. I work with a theatre company, and have a diverse range of interests including Sherlock Holmes and the Titanic, both of which I have written several articles about, for the relevant society journals.
